How to set up an article

A guide to preparing an article for the scientific journal of Matin research paper

Abstract:
  • The Persian abstract should be in one paragraph and 150-200 words.
  • The abstract includes in order: statement of the problem, the importance of the problem, the main question of the article, the research method, the process of reaching the answer to the main question, the final achievement or the answer obtained for the main question - this part is very important and should be a sentence that shows the innovation of the article. reach - necessity, goal, method of research, and the most important results of research.
  • In the abstract, no details, tables, figures, sources, or formulas should be included, and unnecessary items should be avoided.
  • Only the research method and its important results should be given in the abstract.
  • The abstract is completely different from a part of the introduction or the text, both in terms of the way of writing and its volume. Therefore, avoid copying some sentences from the introduction or the text as an abstract. The abstract must be written after the completion of the research and compilation of the article.

Keywords:
  • The number of keywords is between 5 and 10.
  • Avoid rewriting all the words in the title of the article as keywords. Words such as review, relations, with emphasis, etc., which sometimes appear in the title, are not keywords. Keywords are the main concepts used in a text (not just in the title) and through their search, your text should be accessible in specialized systems.
  • Keywords should be sorted according to the Persian alphabet.

Introduction
  • It should include problem design, importance, hypotheses, a review of related scientific sources, a summary of results obtained from previous research, and a description of the purpose. The research history should be relevant and up-to-date articles should be used. The necessity of conducting research must be explained. Thematic or chronological order of sources from old to new sources should be followed. The purpose of the research should be clearly defined at the end of the introduction. The number of words in the introduction and other parts of the article should be proportional to the length of the article.
  •  The introduction is suitable for one and a half pages. In the whole text, convert the long sentences into shorter and simpler sentences by placing periods and, as much as possible, use the verbs in the third person indefinite form and in the past tense. . The number of references in this section should not exceed 20 and avoid bringing multiple or old references in a row.

Background

The background is very important because of its scientific value and expression of innovation; Therefore, it is necessary to present it in the article with an independent title.

Background standard

It is necessary to observe the following considerations for the standardization of the background:

  1. Determine the desired area and territory for background writing.
  2. Identify the main sources in the same area. In principle, weak and non-specialized sources should not be mentioned.
  3. Identified sources should be categorized in terms of content and avoid mentioning them individually (categorization of content is the initiative of the author/authors).

Note: The basis for categorizing sources is the author's desired approach, and the publication does not have any precedent in this field; That is, the author/authors decide that the sources can be placed in two or more groups. In these cases, it is necessary to mention the author's classification criteria clearly.

  1. After finishing the introduction of the designed categories, at the end of the background, it is necessary to give a few things in brief:

- Background evaluation that expresses the strengths and weaknesses of the available resources.

- Expressing the gaps in that field of research according to the background presented;

- Expressing the position of the current research according to the stated gaps and which gap this research wants to fill.

- Innovations and highlights of the current research compared to the existing background.

All these cases should be written in a specialized and concise manner so that the volume of the background does not increase abnormally.

  1. The bibliographic address of the works mentioned in the background, all come in full in the bibliography.

6. The background should not be limited to articles and books, scientific conferences and treatises should also be seen.

  1. Due to Matin's publication's certain scientific nature and style, it is necessary to see the sources related to the topic in the publication and mention them in the background.
  2. The background is after the introduction.
  3. The background should have an independent title and not be merged with foundations or other titles.
  4. Writing background in other formats (such as table format) is unimpeded if it complies with the above method and content principles.

Method
  • Articles that use some kind of statistical analysis method or contextual analysis approach are considered; it is necessary to provide an independent title as a method in the article.
  • In these cases, the method title mentions the introduction of the context, the statistical population and sample, the way of entering and designing semantic tables, and other such things.
  • In articles done with a descriptive-analytical approach, it is enough to have a subheading titled "Method" at the end of the introduction—after the subheading of questions.
  • Explanations in this section will be few. But instead of that, naturally, the part of theoretical foundations and model of analysis becomes important and needs sufficient explanations.

Findings and discussion

This section should present all qualitative and quantitative results obtained, including tables, figures, curves, and relevant scientific explanations. In this part, the presented figures and tables should be analyzed. Necessary comparisons should be made between the research findings and previous research. Similar to the materials and methods, "findings and discussion" should also be presented separately and with a number of adverbs corresponding to the materials and methods sections. It is necessary to present a scientific discussion for every finding.

Conclusion

Based on the research results and findings, the researcher can present his inference and draw conclusions by reasoning, synthesizing, and comparing the results with similar research or research objectives.

All researchers and authors must provide appropriate practical suggestions that are in accordance with the research goals and results.

Acknowledgment

Thanks and gratitude to the institutions and people who participated in the research with material or scientific support should be given here if necessary. If there is a research contract with executive bodies, mentioning the contract number is fine.

Conflict of interest of the authors

Disclosure of any conflict of interest is necessary to provide a clear research report. Failure to declare a conflict of interest can lead to immediate rejection of an article. If an undeclared conflict of interest is identified after publication, Metin Research Journal will act by COPE guidelines and will notify and remove the article (retraction). It should be noted that the conflict of interest can be financial, including payment of fees, salaries and wages, or financial loss, etc., from/to an organization other than what is declared in the author's organizational affiliation (now and in the future). or whether it is non-financial, professional or personal. A conflict of interest can arise in relation to an organization or an individual. In addition to sending the "conflict of interest" form along with the submitted files, it is necessary for the respected authors to clearly state any kind of conflict of interest in the final part of the article before the references. When the authors have no conflict of interest, the relevant sentence should be added to the article as follows:

The author(s) of this article declare that they have no conflict of interest in writing or publishing it.

References

All the references must be up-to-date, and in exceptional cases, old references can be mentioned. The number of references in research articles should be more than 20 to 25. It is mandatory to include the DOI of all articles.

Referencing sources in the text

References in the text of the article should be in APA style so that the author's name or authors, the year of publication, and the page are mentioned first. It is worth mentioning that the reference should be to the printed works in the same original language (Persian or English), for example: (Ansari, 1411, vol. 1, p. 377) or (McKendrick, 2016, p. 174)

In this section, a basic example is presented for reference. Be sure to pay attention to the use of periods and commas in writing and use them in the same style.

(Khoei, 1421, vol. 3, pp. 63-62).

(Elliott, 2017, p. 330)

Reference to a work with two authors

(The surnames of the two authors should be mentioned with the conjunction "Wav")

(Sadiqian and Jafari Nedoshan, 2014, p. 59).

In English sources, the & symbol should be used for conjunctions.

(Elliott, Tolhurst & Quinn, 2017, p.330)

Reference to a work with more than three authors:

(The last name of the first author should be mentioned and the word "others" should be used instead of the names of the following authors):

(Damad et al. researcher, 2017, vol. 1, pp. 183-182)

The word et.al should be used for the equivalent of others in English sources.

(Ahmadi & et al., 2019, p. 34).

If more than one source is cited from a researcher, the order of its insertion is based on the year of publication from oldest to newest. Also, suppose there are several sources from a researcher in one year. In that case, they will be distinguished from each other by placing the letters A, B, and C in Farsi and a, b, and c in English in front of the year of publication: (Shahidi, A 1396, p. 76 ) (Shahidi, 2016, p. 76) and (Ahmadi, 2010a) (Ahmadi, 2010b). If a text is obtained by citing several sources, the sources are distinguished from each other by using a semicolon (;) or semicolon (;):

(Makaram Shirazi, 1425, p. 128; Araki, 1415, vol. 1, p. 145; Emami, 1395, vol. 1, p. 213).
