One of the topics that can be investigated in Islamic jurisprudence is the law governing the Diyat. In this article, the author first has a historical perspective on the law of the Diyat in the pre-Islamic world, and then examines the Diyat system in the Islamic religion and expresses the opinion of the jurists of various religions about the legal nature of the Diyat system. At the end, the number and quality of three items (Dinar, Dirham and Haleh) from the six items of the Diyat are examined.Machine summary: Considering the narrations from the Imams of Athar (a.s.) who said: "Kant al-Diyyah fi al-Jahilitah Maa Man al-Abl Faqraha Rasulullah (SAW)" (7) and also considering what was mentioned, it is clear that the system of the Diet in the set of laws Hammurabi, in Roman and Anglo-Saxon law, as well as in the Arab era, has been a signature rule, and Islam also uses this rational rule, which undoubtedly has a positive effect on the public order and security of the society and to some extent compensate for bodily and life damages, in the same customary sense and It has been signed and approved by its rationality. However, it seems that according to the traditions and the legal systems of the world before Islam, one thousand dinars (equal to 750 shekels of pure gold) was selected as the basic payment and five other types of payment were mentioned in this credit. At the time of the issuance of the narration or the time of the legalization of the decree, the purchasing power of each of the five types (one hundred camels, two hundred cows, one thousand sheep, two hundred halals and ten thousand dirhams) in terms of price was equal to the purchasing power of one thousand dinars.
