Abstract
Today, the preservation of independence and territorial integrity of countries is regarded as a principle in international law. International law and global conventions, along with the constitutions of countries, all emphasize the principle of "respect for territorial integrity." However, ethnic and religious diversity in most countries of the world, as well as the pivotal role of "territory" in consolidating and generating power in today's world, confronts the "territorial integrity" of countries with numerous internal and external challenges. Iran, with its ethnic and religious fault lines, is no exception. This research seeks to use a descriptive-analytical method to examine the position of protecting the country's territorial integrity in the jurisprudence and legal system of Iran, particularly by relying on the views of Imam Khomeini as the architect and great leader of the Islamic Revolution. Accordingly, Imam Khomeini accepted territorial integrity as an Islamic and national principle, and fundamentally, the protection of the Islamic territory was one of the reasons for the establishment of his government.
