Abstract

As a great thinker and a man committed to ethical values, Imam Khomeini tried to go one step beyond abidance to legal rules and structures in controlling power and introduced a way for the inner perfection of the rulers so that on the one hand the rulers traverse the path to felicity and on the other the roots of power mongering and expansionism through manipulation of power are uprooted.
After defining the terms ethic, ethics, and ethic of executives in the first chapter, the author studies the role of the ethic of executives in their decision and on the destiny of the society.
In the second chapter he also discusses that the general foundations of ethic of the executives lies on the cognition of man's nature, his perfectionism and his endeavor for perfection, elaboration of cosmology, and love for the world.
In the third chapter the specific foundations of the ethic of executives are discussed.
In the end the author argues that since man's power-mongering lies in his perfectionist nature, the way to contain power is cognition of the nature of government which is not in itself valuable but its value lies in the implementation of divine goals and rendering services to the people.
