Abstract
Enhancing efficiency is a fundamental objective of any political system, as it fosters public satisfaction and reinforces political stability. On the other hand, political stability itself contributes to maximizing systemic efficiency. Political theorists and sociologists regard efficiency as a core function of political systems, while protest movements often signal its decline, particularly in the context of political stability. In this framework, efficiency acts as a buffer against escalating political tensions and challenges.
This study examines the relationship between governmental efficiency and political stability in Iran during the 1390s decade (2012–2022). The central research question explores the correlation between political stability/instability and governmental efficiency, alongside its impact on public satisfaction during this period.
The findings reveal that while public satisfaction persisted to some extent throughout the decade, governmental efficiency, especially in the economic sector, declined markedly toward the end of the 1390s. This deterioration reduced public satisfaction and contributed to episodic political instability in the late 1390s.
