Abstract
The most important aspect of every revolution is its ideological aspect which is significant in studying its transnational impacts. This aspect of the Islamic Revolution left an impact on the adjacent regions – which enjoy many regional, geographical, cultural and historical similarities. Although these impacts were not much noticed due to the domination of former Soviet Union during the first decade of the revolution, with the collapse of the Soviet Union, and formation of newly independent republics, the Islamic Republic of Iran tried to expand its influence on the basis of three connections, i.e., ethnicity, language and common historical-cultural background).
