The religious and popular nature of Iranian revolution and the resulting government raised enmity by great world powers from one side while turning it to the inspiring point for nations especially the Muslims. Hence the leader of Iranian revolution felt a duty to export its experiences and lessons form the very initial days of victory and thus proposed the theory of exporting revolution to respond to the mutual demand of revolution and its aboard followers. In fact the theory of “exporting revolution” should have been an ordered policy which faced many different views but Imam Khomeini as the ruler of this revolution and founder of Islamic Republic not only insisted on exporting the revolution but also defined its aspects. This article will explore the reasons, importance and necessity of exporting revolution as seen by Imam Khomeini.
Imam Khomeini believed exporting revolution to be a beliefs-based duty due to its ideological characteristics which is inevitable in regional and international conditions. On the other side Imam Khomeini believed nations should be aimed in exporting the revolution while considering all aspects where the interests of the Islamic Republic could be gained.
